EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — An El Paso car dealership is preparing to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness Month with a Lucha Libre event this Saturday.
Doors open for RightDrive’s Lucha For the Cure event at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 9315 Montana Ave. The free event also features food trucks, local vendors and community fun.
In addition, all proceeds from raffles and RightDrive concessions will go towards funding mammograms for uninsured women, according to the news release from the dealership.
“This isn’t just about the action in the ring. It’s about fighting for women in our community,” read the release.
According to RightDrive, last year’s $3,000 donation helped 24 uninsured women receive free mammogram vouchers. This year, the dealership hopes to double or triple the donation amount.
The free event is in partnership with God of the Ring Pro Wrestling Entertainment and Desert Imaging.
Desert Imaging’s partnership with Texas Tech and the BEST program ensures that grant funding is used to enable uninsured women to receive diagnostic mammograms and, if necessary, breast biopsies, providing comprehensive support from screening through diagnosis, according to the news release.
If you can’t attend the event, you can still donate to the cause, which can be made through this link or by texting “Lucha” to 53-555.
