EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Eastlake High School head football coach since 2019 was arrested earlier this week for allegedly assaulting a family member, according to El Paso County jail records.
Ruben Rodriguez was arrested on Sunday, Sept. 28, and charged with assault of a family/household member by impeding breath/circulation under a $40,000 bond, according to jail records.
He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on Sunday and posted bond that same day.
The Socorro Independent School District confirmed Rodriguez’s employment and issued the following statement.
“The district does not comment on personnel matters. Appropriate steps are being taken in accordance with district policy, and we remain focused on supporting our students and schools.”
