EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 32-year-old man was arrested and is facing multiple charges after he allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend twice this weekend, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.
John Anthony Etienne, 32, was arrested and is facing multiple charges including unlawful restraint, assault of a family member by impeding breathing, continuous assault on a family member and retaliation. His bonds totaled $58,500.
At about 4 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, Sheriff’s deputies were sent out to the 3700 block of Peak Place in Montana Vista.
A female victim told deputies she had been assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, identified as Etienne.
The suspect had left the scene before deputies arrived.
Later that morning, deputies were notified that Etienne had returned to the victim’s home and assaulted her again, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The victim suffered several injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies then found Etienne and took him into custody without incident.
