EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Camino Real Regional Utility Authority (CRRUA) says it passed its monthly arsenic tests for October.
Test results released by Eurofins Environment Testing — a water lab certified by the New Mexico Environment Department (NMED) — show the Sunland Park Arsenic Treatment Facility (ATF) at 4.4 parts per billion (ppb), the Santa Teresa Community ATF at 3.6 ppb and Santa Teresa Industrial ATF at 5.7 ppb. The test results are from samples taken Oct. 1.
The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) maximum contaminate level (MCL) for arsenic is 10 parts per billion (ppb).
CRRUA provides water and wastewater service to Santa Teresa and Sunland Park.

CRRUA excluded Border Entry ATF from its monthly voluntary testing due to its continued meeting of all NMED requirements.
“CRRUA is compliant with arsenic standards under the Safe Drinking Water Act, and our Arsenic Treatment Facilities continue to operate as intended. We are committed to maintaining full transparency by publicly sharing results from both regulatory samples and operational control testing,” CRRUA Executive Director Juan Crosby said.
