EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 39-year-old Fabens man has been arrested after allegedly burglarizing a home and then trying to flee from deputies, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said.
At about 10:20 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, deputies were sent out to the 300 block of NW Fassett in Fabens about a burglary of a home in progress.
Upon arrival, deputies saw a male suspect matching the description provided by the reporting party fleeing on foot. A brief pursuit ensued, and the suspect was apprehended in the 700 block of Mesa Ridge, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The individual was identified as 39-year-old Jose “Payaso” Rodriguez of Fabens. Further investigation revealed Rodriguez had an active warrant for parole violation. He was also charged with evading arrest or detention with previous convictions.
Rodriguez was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility without bond, the Sheriff’s Office said.
