EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Two people were killed and three people were hurt, one critically, in a head-on crash on Oct. 3 in Presidio County, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.
The crash happened at about 4:20 p.m. on Oct. 3 along U.S. 67, about 12 miles north of Presidio. Presidio is about 250 miles southeast of El Paso.
A Chevrolet Avalance pickup was traveling south on U.S. 67 when it entered the northbound lane and struck a Sierra GMC pickup, DPS said.
The driver — Refjujio Castillo, 59 — and passenger — Juan Jose Rodriguez, 82 — of the first vehicle were killed and pronounced dead at the scene. Both of the men who were killed were from Pecos, Texas.
A woman in the second vehicle was critically injured and was transported to a hospital in Odessa.
Two other passengers in the first vehicle were injured and taken to a hospital in the Big Bend area. They were described as being in stable condition.
This crash remains under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
