EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A man who was throwing out his trash early Wednesday morning, Oct. 15, shot and killed a woman after an altercation in a neighborhood in far East El Paso, according to El Paso Police.
Police identified the woman who was shot as Rachel Lei Ann Creed, 49, and did not identify the 23-year-old man who they said shot Creed.
Police reported that an altercation had ensued between Creed and the man who went outside at sometime after 1:00 a.m. to throw his trash.
As a result of the altercation, the man fired a handgun, striking Creed, police said.
When police arrived, they found Creed with an apparent gunshot wound, and she was taken to a hospital, where she later died, police said.
Police did not say if the man is facing any charges.
