Posted on October 16, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Over 20 squatters were removed from a residence on Thursday, Oct. 16, in Northeast El Paso.

The El Paso County Constable Office Precinct 2 says at around 9 a.m. Thursday, they received an order from the Justice of the Peace Court to execute a writ of possession at 5733 Hemmingway after several squatters made their way into the home.

Other agencies arrived at the scene and were able to successfully remove 22 to 25 people from the home and recover stolen property.

Video from the scene shows furniture items being taken outside of the home and placed on the sidewalk.

Five of those people were taken into custody for various criminal warrants, and another person was arrested for possession of marijuana and booked into the El Paso County Jail.

The El Paso Police Department’s Northeast Regional Command, the State Attorney General’s Police, the DEA, and deputies from Constables Pct. 1, 4, 6, and 7 took part in the investigation.
