EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — An 18-year-old was arrested after driving recklessly and evading officers this past Saturday, Oct. 18, on I-10, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office says they attempted to stop a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed and driving recklessly on I-10.
The driver, who was identified as Raul Albert Sias, 18, refused to stop and continued to evade deputies before eventually coming to a stop at the 9700 block of Alameda Avenue.
Sias was taken into custody and booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on a charge of evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle on a bond of $20,000.
“When individuals choose to flee from law enforcement, they put lives at risk, including their own. The Sheriff’s Office will continue to take swift action to ensure reckless drivers are held accountable and our roads remain safe.”
