EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Locomotive FC has clinced a home playoff match, the club announced.
The Locomotive clinced a home postseason match after Phoenix Rising FC and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds FC ended up in a draw.
El Paso clinched the playoff spot despite losing 5-2 Saturday night, Oct. 25 in their regular-season finale against San Antonio FC.
The Locos will face Phoenix at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1 at Southwest University Park. It is the team’s first home playoff match since 2021.
The Locos begin the 2025 USL Championship Playoffs as the four seed.
Phoenix Rising FC enter the playoffs as the fifth seed in the Western Conference. The Locomotive earned two draws against Phoenix this season with both featuring three-goal comebacks for the road team.
Los Locos scored the most goals in club history this season with 60, going into Saturday night’s action.
They hope to carry this momentum into the postseason and advance for the first time since 2020.
