KTSM News – El Paso man sentenced to 55 years for child sex abuse

Posted on October 28, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — An El Paso man has been sentenced to 55 years in prison for continuously sexually abusing two children over a five-year period, according to the El Paso County District Attorney’s Office.

The DA’s Office says Cesar Lazcano, 49, had a trial that began earlier this month, and on Oct. 20, the jury reached a unanimous guilty verdict on two counts of continuous sex abuse of a child under 14, and one count of indecency with a child by sexual contact.

Lazcano was sentenced on Tuesday, Oct. 28, to 55 years in state prison on the sex abuse charges and 22 years on the indecent charge. The sentences will be served concurrently, the DA’s Office said.

The DA’s Office says during the trial, two female juveniles testified that Lazcano began abusing them when they were 5 years old, from 2013 to 2018.

Lazcano will not be eligible for parole and will have to serve the entire 55 years.
