Border Report – Shots reportedly fired at Border Patrol from Mexico

Posted on November 7, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – Police in Juarez, Mexico, on Friday surrounded a house near the Rio Grande where they believed men who shot at the U.S. Border Patrol earlier in the day were hiding.

It was the second of two shootings happening hours apart and allegedly targeting Border Patrol, or heard and reported by U.S. border agents, reliable sources told Border Report.

The first shots rang out Thursday afternoon near the Big Red X monument in Juarez, which is a short distance away from the river and the U.S. border wall. The shots did not strike any border agents and it’s unknown if the bullets even crossed the border.

The second set of shots were fired in the direction of Border Patrol agents from Mexico west of the Paso del Norte international bridge. They were fired as agents were attempting to apprehend a group of migrants and their foot guides, knowledgeable sources told Border Report.

A few hours after that second shooting, the Juarez municipal police and the Mexican National Guard surrounded a neighborhood where they suspected the assailants were hiding out.

No arrests were immediately reported.
