EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Freedom Crossing food court at Fort Bliss will reopen in time for Veterans Day on Tuesday, Nov. 11, after a fire closed the area on Sunday, Nov. 9, the U.S. Army Fort Bliss posted on its Facebook page Monday afternoon.

Fort Bliss reported that the fire at Texas Roadhouse happened after 5 p.m. on Sunday. Although the food court will reopen along with other services in the area, the restaurant will be closed until further notice as crews work to remediate the damage.

There were no injuries, and fire inspectors and electricians began to assess the cause, which based on the initial report, was likely an electrical issue, according to Fort Bliss.

Significant water was sprayed throughout the food court when the sprinkler systems were activated. However, the water has been cleaned up, and the food court has been ventilated from the smoke of the fire as of Monday, Fort Bliss added.
