Texas Monthly – The Next Great American Cyclist Might Be an Unassuming Teenager From Amarillo

Beckam Drake comes from what he calls a “pretty cookie-cutter Texas family.” His mom, Kaylyn, teaches English as a second language in the local public schools. His dad, Justin, is a mechanic in the oil fields north of Amarillo, where the family lives. When the eighteen-year-old Beckam needs to get around, he drives his family’s Chevrolet Silverado, which has 233,000 miles on the odometer.
