EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Three migrants who are in the country illegally were taken into custody after a crash Monday night, April 7 near UTEP, a Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman said.
At about 9 p.m., two vehicles crashed near Paisano and Loop 375, the DPS spokesman said.
A trooper witnessed the crash and rushed to assist the passengers.
DPS said there were three undocumented migrants in one of the vehicles. The driver fled but was ultimately apprehended by the trooper.
One of the migrants was treated at the scene for minor scratches to her head, DPS said.
Border Patrol agents took the driver and two passengers into custody, DPS said.
No other information was released.
