Posted on July 18, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — U.S. Border Patrol said an agent was involved in a “use of force incident” and apparently used a stun gun late Thursday night, July 17 in West El Paso.

The incident happened at about 10:30 p.m. Thursday at Sunland Park Drive and Constitution/J.C. Machuca Street.

Border Patrol said that one of its agents used what they called a “less-than-lethal electronic device.”

There were no injuries, Border Patrol said.

The incident is under review by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Professional Responsibility.

Border Patrol did not say what led up to the incident.
