EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) — Agents shot and killed a 27-year-old man who opened fire at a U.S. Border Patrol facility on Monday in McAllen, Texas.
The shooting happened shortly before 6 a.m. at the Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Sector Annex, which is connected to McAllen International Aiport.

Police identified the gunman at Ryan Louis Mosqueda, of Michigan. He had been reported missing from nearby town early Monday morning.
McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez said Mosqueda fired dozens of rounds with an “assault rifle,” adding that investigaotrs found another rifle and more ammunition.
Rodriguez said a 10-year veteran of the McAllen Police Department was shot in the knee during an exchange of fire.
Investigators are also looking into a vehicle with Michigan license plates that Rodriguez said was spraypainted with what is believed to be a message in Latin. He said it was unclear if that was related to the attack.
A motive for shooting remains unclear. The FBI is now leading the investigation.
The shooting also prompted McAllen International to delay all flight and block all access. The airpot has resummed all normal opererations.
