EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — An El Paso man was sentenced in a federal court to 15 years in prison for trafficking fentanyl and other illicit drugs, according to the United States Attorney’s Office from the Western District of Texas.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Victor Arellano, 40, delivered 1,000 fentanyl pills to an undercover agent in exchange for $1,500 in November 2023.
Arellano sold more narcotics, including fentanyl to agents through controlled purchases on four other occasions, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
DEA agents conducted an operation to seize 20 kilograms of methamphetamine in January 2024 resulting in the arrest of Arrellano, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Arellano pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance in December 2024. Arellano also forfeited a total of $10,225 in drug proceeds seized during the investigation, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
