HIDALGO COUNTY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Winds are causing a fire that originated on the Mexico side of the southern border to cross onto U.S. soil.
Eyewitnesses say the fire is crossing onto Border Road and the Rio Grande. Photos from the scene show smoke crossing onto the U.S. side right on the border wall.
Border Patrol agents at the scene say the fire originated in Mexico.
The Hidalgo County Fire Marshal’s office say local fire authorities are at the scene, including Alamo, Pharr and Donna fire departments.
