Posted on March 10, 2025

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – Three men were killed and two injured by gunfire during a shootout Sunday at a mechanical shop in Juarez, Mexico.

Juarez police said at least two men arrived in a vehicle at the business in the Heroes de la Revolucion neighborhood around 7 p.m. and opened fire against three employees. A customer at the shop who happened to be an off-duty municipal police officer pulled out his service firearm and returned fire, according to a report from the Municipal Public Safety Secretary (SSPM).

The assailants killed two body shop employees, and the off-duty police officer killed one of the attackers, municipal police officials told Border Report news partner ProVideo on Monday.

The third body shop employee was also injured by gunfire, as was the officer, identified only as Alberto A.D., 42, the municipal police said.

The civilian was taken to a nearby hospital while the officer is recovering from his wounds at Star Medical clinic in Juarez, the municipal police said.

There was no word on what happened to the other alleged assailant or assailant. The Chihuahua Attorney General’s Office has taken over the investigation.
