John Cornyn has been a U.S. Senator for the state of Texas since 2002. But he is in a battle to win his party’s nomination and contend for a fourth term. Cornyn faces a stiff challenge from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton in the Republican primary runoff election. Whoever wins the runoff will face Democrat James Talarico in November for the Senate seat.
