SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — Crews with the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department responded to the border wall in Otay Mesa Thursday morning after reports of a man stuck on top of the barrier.

According to an SDFD incident report, the response location was in the area of Britannia Court and Britannia Boulevard. The rescue mission was first reported at 6:50 a.m., with a fire engine, a ladder truck and an ambulance responding to the scene.

José Ysea, the Public Safety Media Services Manager for the City of San Diego, confirmed that the individual was located in-between the two border fences, roughly 30 feet up.

FOX 5/KUSI crews were at the scene, also seeing a response from Border Patrol with vehicles on site.

Officials have since confirmed that the individual was safely rescued from the border wall. No further details were immediately provided regarding the person’s nationality or the circumstances leading up to the rescue mission.
