PROGRESO, Texas (ValleyCentral) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a man wanted for aggravated sexual assault of a child on Saturday at the Progreso International Bridge in Progreso, Texas.
Border officers referred a man, identified as 40-year-old Gumaro Rodriguez, to a secondary inspection, a news release from CBP stated.

During the secondary inspection, a federal law enforcement database verified that Rodriguez had an outstanding warrant for aggravated sexual assault of a child, issued by the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office in Corpus Christi.
The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office took Rodriguez to the Hidalgo County Jail where he is awaiting criminal proceedings.
