SAN DIEGO (Border Report) — A new Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) survey released Thursday shows many immigrants in the U.S. are experiencing increased fear, discrimination, and uncertainty in the early stages of President Donald Trump’s second term.
The nationwide poll was conducted from Feb. 11 to March 11, highlighting the impact of the administration’s immigration policies and rhetoric on immigrant communities.
The survey, done in six languages, involved 1,279 Latino immigrants who are undocumented or living with an undocumented family member.
It found that 61% of respondents reported feeling anxious or afraid about their future in the U.S. due to the current political climate.
This figure was higher at 78% among undocumented immigrants who took part in the survey.
According to the Kaiser Foundation, its findings reflects “heightened concerns over Trump’s campaign promises to restrict legal immigration pathways and pursue mass deportations.”
