EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) — Some migrants who became stuck in a storm drain had to be rescued Monday near the border in Laredo, Texas, U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.
The Laredo Police Department first notified U.S. Border Patrol agents about the incident near the World Trade Bridge.
When agents arrived, they noticed that the migrants had no way of escaping the storm drain near the sewer system.
With the assistance of the Laredo Fire Department, they were able to extract them from the drain.
CBP said agents apprehended two migrants and determined they were from Honduras and Guatemala and were in the country illegally.
