EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) — An Albuquerque man has pleaded guilty to federal charges involving the exploitation of minors on social media platforms.
Between June 2021 and March 2023, Adrian Puentes, 25, used Instagram and Snapchat to “coerce and entice” two minors to engage in illegal sexual activity online, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of New Mexico.
In court filings, Puentes admitted he threatened using “sextortion” to force an underage girl to produce additional sexually explicit photographs. He used Snapchat to persuade a second girl to meet in person for sex and sent her money for transportation, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.
Puentes pleaded guilty to two counts of coercion and enticement of a minor. He faces a minimum of 10 years and up to life in prison if convicted.
