SAN DIEGO, Calif. (FOX 5/ KUSI) — One person is dead after falling from a San Diego border wall in the Otay Mesa area, authorities confirmed.
According to the San Diego Police Department, officers and U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents responded to reports of a person who had gone over the border wall just before 11:30 p.m. Thursday.
Authorities responded to the area and located the individual on the U.S. side, near Britannia Court. The person, whose identity was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
CBP is handling the investigation into the fatal incident. No further details have been provided at this time.
