ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A parole officer was arrested and charged with human trafficking in Abilene after allegedly forcing multiple victims into prostitution.
Symone Danielle Miller was booked into the Taylor County Jail for Trafficking of Persons under 18 (forced labor) and Trafficking of Person Tuesday in connection to the allegations.
Court documents reveal Miller is accused of committing trafficking by forcing two victims to engage in prostitution in Tom Green County in March of 2021.
One victim was under the age of 18, according to the documents, which claim Miller assaulted and threated to assault the other victim, also “causing this individual to become intoxicated without her consent to a degree that impaired her ability to appraise the nature of or resist engaging in any conduct.”
The Texas Department of Criminal Justice confirmed Miller is an active Parole Officer and has been suspended pending the results of these charges. It’s unknown if Miller’s status as a Parole Officer played a role in the allegations leading to her arrest.
Miller was released from the Taylor County Jail after posting bonds totaling $250,000.
