Border Report – Rio Grande Valley leaders upbeat about economy despite maquiladora layoffs

As hundreds of people from both sides of the border gathered for the MXLAN International Economic Summit on Friday in McAllen, news filtered about 600 job losses in Brownsville by a Mexican-based maquiladora. But officials tell Border Report that job gains in the Rio Grande Valley offset these losses. And they say automation, A-I and jobs involving new technology are the future driving the region.  Read: Read More
