WASHINGTON, D.C. (ValleyCentral) — A Weslaco, Texas, Border Patrol agent was invited as a guest for President Donald Trump’s 2025 joint address to Congress.
Roberto Ortiz has served the U.S. Border Patrol for nearly a decade and is a U.S. Navy and California State Guard veteran.
Ortiz joined Trump and first lady Melania Trump at the U.S. Capitol, for the president’s speech.
Ellisoton Berry and Alexis Nungaray, both from Texas, were also invited as special guests.
Ellisoton Berry,15, is from Aledo, Texas and was a victim of computer-generated deepfakes that were created by her school bully, intended to humiliate Berry and her friends.
Alexis Nungaray from Houston, is the mother of 12-year-old Jocelyn Nungaray, who was killed by two Venezuelan men who entered the country illegally and were released by federal officials.
Other special guests who were invited to the speech were Allyson and Lauren Phillips from Georgia; the Comperatore Family from Pennsylvania; Jeff Denard from Alabama; Stephanie Diller from New York; Haley Ferguson from Tennessee; Marc and Malphine Fogel from Pennsylvania; January Littlejohn from Florida; and Payton McNabb from North Carolina.
