BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection allegedly seized over $500,000 worth of cocaine hidden within a vehicle.

On Aug. 14, CBP officers at the Los Indios International Bridge referred a 2011 Honda, driven by a 32-year-old San Benito resident, to a secondary inspection, according to a news release from CBP.
During the secondary inspection, authorities discovered 19 packages hidden within the vehicle. The packages contained a total of 42.85 pounds of alleged cocaine, the release stated.
Authorities say the cocaine had an estimated street value of $572,235.
Customs and Border Protection officers seized the cocaine and the vehicle. Homeland Security Investigation special agents arrested the driver and initiated a criminal investigation.
