MCALLEN, Texas (ValleyCentral) — U.S. Border Patrol has released a statement regarding an active shooter incident Monday morning.
“Early this morning, an active shooter incident occurred at Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Sector Annex. The suspect is deceased. The incident is still under investigation. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available,” a release from the U.S. Border Patrol stated.
Monday morning, McAllen Police confirmed a disturbance near Wichita and Main Street. Police and other agencies responded to what police called an active crime scene.
As a result, the McAllen International Airport delayed all flights. Vehicles and passengers were not permitted to enter the terminal or parking lot, according to a city spokesperson.
