TYLER, Texas (KETK) — An analysis of Texas crime data by SafeWise has named the five safest cities to live in for 2025, spotlighting communities with the lowest violent and property crime rates.
1. San Elizario
Coming in at number 1, San Elizario reported a property crime rate of 1.18 per 1,000 people and a violent crime rate of 0.10 per 1,000 people.
San Elizario is a far West Texas city near El Paso known as a semi-rural farming community that is steadily trying to establish itself as an artistic city with more than 20 working art studios, according to TexasTimeTravel.com.
2. Parker
With a population of only about 6,367, Parker reported a violent crime rate of 0.16 per 1,000 people and a property crime rate of 2.83 per 1,000 people. Their property crime rate is 16.27% lower than the national U.S. average, a testament to their peaceful countryside.
Those who either live in the city or have visited the area know it has beautiful landscapes that give off a calm and friendly atmosphere, according to the republic title.
3. Fulshear
Located in the northwest area of Fort Bend County, Fulshear reported a property crime rate of 3.95 per 1,000 people and a violent crime rate of 0.16 per 1,000 people.
The city had a population of just 716 people in the year 2000 and natives have witnessed the population skyrocket to over 25,000. The city is known to many as a relaxed country town that is just seven miles from major entertainment.
4. Trophy Club
Just outside of Dallas, Trophy Club is home to around 13,772 people with a violent crime rate of 0.22 per 1,000 people and a property crime rate of 3.85 per 1,000.
Trophy Club is unsurprisingly known for its rich golfing heritage, considering the name Trophy Club comes from the idea of building a country club to hold golf legend Ben Hogan’s trophy collection, according to dallasbuilders.com.
5. Melissa
Right in the middle of the Oklahoma State line and Dallas, Melissa supports about 22,495 people with a 5A school district that enrolls 5,700 students, according to melissatx.org. Some residents enjoy using their standardized sports facility called The Z-Plex, which holds baseball, soccer and tennis.
Melissa comes into 2025 with a violent crime rate of 0.31 per 1,000 people and a property crime rate of 3.91 per 1,000 people.
