Imagine masked U.S. government agents kidnapping people off the street and sending them to concentration camps.
Dystopian fiction? Nah. It’s happening today, in these United States.
At least they say that they’re sending them to concentration camps. No one knows, because the people that are picked up are never heard from again.
If it were some countries — Myanmar, Syria, maybe even Saudi Arabia — we could presume that they were murdered, buried in unmarked graves, or interred in tambores de 200 litros. But it’s the U.S., so we give our federal agents the benefit of the doubt, and presume that the unfortunate victims are really being sent to concentration camps in El Salvador, and, soon, Florida.
Is this really happening?
Because it feels just like a really bad dream.
