While we weren’t looking, the Ciudad Juarez 2025 bullfighting season got underway.
The next bullfight is Friday, October 3 at 8pm at the Alberto Balderas Bullring in downtown. Just head for the Torre Centinela, that 20 story high rise going up on Ferrocarril. You can’t miss it. It’s the tallest building in our Mexoplex.
Not like it matters to you, but the headliner is Román Collado, a Spanish torero who has a penchant for getting gored by the bulls he’s fighting. Also participating will be a couple of bullfighters who shown in the first Juarez bullfight of the season on September 19.
The Alberto Balderas bullring is small (dare I say intimate?) and reminiscent of that Bugs Bunny bullfighting cartoon.
The bullfights are a barbaric spectacle, but they serve beer.
