El Chuqueño Blog – The Obscene Entitlement of Cassandra Hernandez

Posted on December 18, 2024

You’ve read the news.

From ElPasoTimes.com:

El Paso city Rep. Cassandra Hernandez’s husband was arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault after allegedly threatening to kill a city employee as Hernandez campaigned for mayor, court documents state.

Jeremy Martin Jordan, 36, was arrested in connection with an alleged Oct. 22 aggravated assault of city employee Rafael Alvarado, 33, at Hernandez’s home in El Paso’s Lower Valley.

. . .

Alvarado is a legislative aid for Hernandez, city of El Paso spokesperson Laura Cruz Acosta said. The city is investigating the incident.

. . .

Hernandez told officers Jordan found her at the house wearing “undergarments” and Alvarado wearing a robe with only boxer briefs under the robe, according to the affidavit. She said she believed Jordan was mad because of the clothes she and Alvarado were wearing.

Hernandez told the El Paso Times that the affidavit is inaccurate regarding her clothing in a text message sent Friday, Dec. 13.

. . .

“I contacted the police detective and my testimony said I was in my lounging wear. Not underwear,” Hernandez said in a text message Friday, Dec. 13. “I’m seeking a change from EPPD as well. And will see what changes they can do if any. My testimony was recorded so I’m asking them to revise it.

And from KVIA.com:

According to the criminal complaint, Alvarado explained to investigators that he arrived at Hernandez’s house that Tuesday afternoon to help her prepare for a scheduled interview. Later that afternoon, court documents state Hernandez and Alvarado were “phone banking” in the backyard when Hernandez became alarmed.

Whoa, imagine that.

Cassandra Hernandez and her Legislative Aide weren’t playing hide the pickle. They were working on her campaign on a Tuesday afternoon.

Isn’t that illegal? I mean, not only was Rep. Hernandez working on her campaign (in her undegarments “lounging wear”, whatever that is) with her legislative aide (in boxer briefs and a robe), they were campaigning on company time.

It might now be against the law, but it certainly runs contrary to the policies of the City of El Paso.

Don’t you reckon that Ms. Hernandez opened up the City of lawsuit alleging sexual harassment?

I bet he gets to keep his job.

Maybe he’ll get the Jane Shang treatment. You know, an extended layoff till he can retire.

Maybe that’s why Mr. Jordan was so upset. Maybe he resented the misappropriation of municipal resources.
