President Obama bailed out the banks. President Cheney started a war that netted his company billions in no-bid contracts. Both political parties support a Byzantine tax code that lets rich people and corporations pay nothing in taxes while the working class carries the load.
Both parties have de-legitimized the government by betraying the citizens.
I can’t imagine co-Presidents Trump and Musk attacking the tax code. You can’t legitimize the government without overhauling our system of taxation.
Everyone knows that the tax system is unfair. I don’t blame the millionaires and billionaires for taking advantage of the system. I blame the politicians that haven’t acknowledged the problem and allowed it to fester into a pus-oozing sore.
I don’t hate the players. I hate the game. And the political parties that perpetuate it.
A new political party is a lot to ask for. But I’m asking.
