El Paso Matters – 5 key dates to remember for Nov. 5 general election

With a reinvigorated presidential race, a key district attorney race and a crowded mayoral race on the ballot, the Nov. 5 general election is likely to draw strong interest. 

But will voters go out to the polls?

It’s never too early to start planning, so add these dates to your calendar, set reminders and get ready to vote.

5 key dates for the Nov. 5 general election

Monday, Oct. 7: Last day to register to vote. Here’s where to check if you’re registered to vote.

Monday, Oct. 21: First day of early voting. Find early voting locations and hours HERE.

Friday, Oct. 25: Last day to apply for ballot by mail. (Received, not postmarked). Find more information about mail-in ballots HERE.

Friday, Nov. 1: Last day of early voting.

Tuesday, Nov. 5: Election Day. Last day to receive a ballot by mail. Find Election Day voting sites HERE.

What about the runoff?

We’ve got you covered, too, if a runoff is necessary in any city of El Paso or school board race. Runoff elections, if necessary, will be held Dec. 14.
