El Paso Matters – Are El Paso’s average annual wages lower than the state’s?

El Paso’s average annual wage was about 21.4% lower than the state average in 2024, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The average annual wage in Texas was $63,660 that year, the latest data available from the BLS. In El Paso, the average annual wage was $50,050 in 2024.

The data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics reflects average wages across all occupations.

Nationally, the mean annual wage in 2024 was $67,920.
