El Paso Matters – Can I write my address on my city of El Paso trash bin?

Posted on February 26, 2026

Yes.

City of El Paso residents may write their address on their trash and recycling bins.

Customers of the city’s Environmental Services Department may label their containers with their address as long as it doesn’t cover the serial number or city logo, according to city spokeswoman Tammy Fonce.

Residents outside the El Paso city limits are served by multiple different solid waste providers.

The Lower Valley Water District provides solid waste services in parts of Socorro, San Elizario, Clint, Fabens and other unincorporated areas of the county. The district allows its customers to place address labels on their bins, but not on the lids, according to LVWD Solid Waste Manager Armando Magallanes.

El Paso Disposal services areas within El Paso County, including Anthony, Canutillo, East Montana, Tornillo, Vinton, Westway and Horizon City. The company’s website doesn’t address labeling bins with and officials couldn’t be reached for comment.
