El Paso Matters wants to hear from employees of the El Paso Independent School District whose jobs could be affected by pending layoffs and staffing reductions.
EPISD trustees are considering declaring financial exigency as the district faces significant budget deficits. Superintendent Brian Lusk has recommended reducing staffing levels by more than 400 positions – including 250 probationary teachers.
We want to better understand how the proposed cuts and uncertainty are affecting educators, staff and school communities across the district.
Please fill out this short form and share your story. If you prefer, contact reporter Claudia Lorena Silva directly at csilva@elpasomatters.org.
Please let us know by Tuesday, June 2. Thank you.
