It’s graduation season across El Paso County, and thousands of students — from high school to college — are preparing to mark the milestone alongside family, friends and classmates. Ceremonies will take place throughout May and June at venues throughout the Borderland, with many scheduled at the Don Haskins Center, 151 Glory Road.
Graduates and guests attending ceremonies at the Haskins Center should plan ahead and review venue policies to help ensure a smooth experience. The arena enforces a clear bag policy, allowing only clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags not exceeding 12-by-6-by-12 inches. Outside food and beverages are not permitted, and items such as professional cameras, tripods and drones are prohibited. Additional restricted items include noisemakers, helium balloons, large signs or banners, glass containers, vapor products, selfie sticks, laser pointers and strollers.
All attendees may be subject to security screening upon entry, and smoking is prohibited anywhere on University of Texas at El Paso property. Parking is available in designated lots near the arena.
While many ceremonies will be held at UTEP, others will take place at campuses and stadiums across the county. San Elizario High School will host its graduation on its campus at Eagle Stadium, where guests are asked to arrive early and note that balloons and signs are not permitted. Fabens High School will hold its ceremony at the Amador Villalobos Jr. Athletic Complex, with a clear bag policy in place and restrictions on large balloon displays, cutouts and noisemakers. At Tornillo High School, officials said gym doors for the ceremony will close once capacity is reached, with overflow seating and a livestream available in the cafeteria. Guests will be asked to remain seated or use designated viewing areas, including a photo area near the stage for families taking pictures after graduates receive their diplomas. Balloons, horns and unauthorized sales or solicitation will not be permitted.

Monday, May 18
- 9 a.m.: Associate of science, associate of applied science, certificate of completion
- 1 p.m.: Associate of arts (excluding multidisciplinary studies), associate of arts in teaching
- 5 p.m.: Associate of arts in multidisciplinary studies
