Here’s a roundup of some culture and civic events in the borderland in the coming week.

ChangeMakers 2026: Women in the Arts

The annual Women’s History Month celebration presented by Progress321 and El Paso Matters this year will honor women whose creative work or advocacy has shaped the arts across the Borderland, including artists, musicians, writers, performers, filmmakers, designers and arts supporters. 

Amanda Ekery

Featured speaker is Grammy-nominated instrumentalist, vocalist and composer Amanda Ekery, who grew up in El Paso.

¡Viva La Causa!

The Mexican American Cultural Center will host a community event honoring the farm worker movement and leaders including Dolores Huerta and Larry Itliong. The program will include creative workshops and informational sessions focused on the history and ongoing legacy of agricultural labor organizing.

Guided Hike Series at El Paso Museum of Archaeology

The El Paso Museum of Archaeology will conclude its guided hike series with a final evening of ranger-led walks exploring the surrounding desert landscape. The hikes are designed for all experience levels and highlight the area’s natural and cultural features.

UTEP Dinner Theatre presents ‘Rent’

The UTEP Dinner Theatre will stage Jonathan Larson’s rock musical “Rent,” which follows a group of young artists navigating love, creativity and hardship in New York’s Lower East Side during the HIV/AIDS crisis. The production contains mature themes and is recommended for adult audiences.

Amigo Man Visits the Old County Jail

Amigo Man will host a meet-and-greet at the Old County Jail in San Elizario as part of a Welcome Spring event organized by the Los Portales Museum. Registered attendees will receive an Amigo Man-themed gift while supplies last.

Downtown Restaurant Week

Full Moon Fiesta

The El Paso Museum of Archaeology will host an evening event featuring hands-on activities, guided hikes and night sky դիտing through telescopes provided by local astronomers. The program is designed for families and visitors interested in archaeology and astronomy.

El Paso Pro-Musica: “Cellobration”

El Paso Pro-Musica will present a cello-focused performance led by Artistic Director Zuill Bailey, joined by the Cello All-Stars and guest cellist John-Henry Crawford. The concert marks Bailey’s 25th anniversary with the organization and features musicians who studied under him at UTEP.

Mission Valley Earth Day Celebration

The city of El Paso will host a free Earth Day celebration in the Mission Valley featuring food, games and live entertainment, including performances by DJ Johnny Kage and Mazo Vibe. The event will also include free pet adoptions and family-friendly activities.

El Paso Locomotive Kids Day

El Paso Locomotive FC will host Las Vegas Lights FC at Southwest University Park for a Kids Day match. The event will include family-focused activities and an Ozzy blanket giveaway while supplies last.

The El Paso Chihuahuas open their 2026 home season at Southwest University Park with a matchup against the Albuquerque Isotopes, the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. Fans attending the season opener can receive a rally towel at the gates and a magnet schedule giveaway after the game.

Community Planting at La Semilla

A community gathering to mark the planting season at La Semilla Community Farm, featuring a guided planting activity led by farm staff, along with performances, food and a collective blessing of the land. The event, part of the “Les Sembrantes (The Sowers)” exhibition organized by the Stanlee and Gerald Rubin Center for the Visual Arts, brings together farmers and food culture practitioners of all ages.

Borderland BeerFest 2026

Dia de Los Niños / Dia de Los Libros

The city’s annual Día de los Niños / Día de los Libros celebration marks its 30th anniversary with a day of family-friendly activities promoting literacy and culture. The event begins with a neighborhood parade and continues with games, booths and community activities organized by the El Paso Public Library and Parks and Recreation Department.

Taste of El Paso Festival

Post Malone and Jelly Roll at Sun Bowl
