El Paso Matters – The Week Ahead: ‘I Voted’ sticker design contest underway

Posted on October 6, 2023

This is your Friday update, which takes a quick look at the week ahead and some developments that El Paso Matters is following.

“I Voted” Sticker Contest: A contest to design the official 2024 “I Voted” sticker for the El Paso County Elections Department is open through Oct. 31. The contest is open to high school students and the winning design will be used on the sticker given to voters throughout 2024. The Design Entry Form, Parental Consent Form and the “I Voted” Sticker Template are on the elections website.  Entries must be sent via e-mail to epelections@epcounty.com.

Free Flu Vaccines: The city of El Paso is partnering with the Ysleta Independent School District to offer free flu vaccine to anyone who is 6 months old or older. The vaccine will be available at a drive-thru site from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the YISD central office, 9600 Sims Drive. No appointment or insurance is required. For additional information about the flu vaccine, visit bepowerflu.com.

Veterans’ Pictures Wanted for Wall of Courage: To honor El Paso veterans in November, El Paso County is building a Wall of Courage and is in need of hundreds of pictures of veterans to put up throughout the third floor of the Enrique Moreno County Courthouse. The pictures must be of veterans in uniform. Entries must be high resolution and should be emailed to cvso@epcounty.com by Oct. 20.
