Three days ago, Governor Greg Abbott announced that he appointed former El Paso City Manager Tommy Gonzalez to the Board of Trustees of the Texas Municipal Retirement System.
Our City Council fired Gonzalez on February 28, 2023 after he served nearly nine years in office.
Gonzalez absolutely failed our community, on so many levels, yet he has been rewarded with a lucrative career as City Manager of Midland and a prestigious position on a key Texas board.
Who knows? Maybe he will be our next Congressman.
