El Paso Taxpayer Revolt – BREAKING NEWS: LEAH HANANY, PRESIDENT OF EPISD BOARD OF TRUSTEES, MOVING TO FIRE SUPERINTENDENT SAYAVEDRA

Posted on May 23, 2025

Daniel Call, a member of the Board of Trustees told us on the record that there will be a special EPISD Board Meeting this coming Tuesday at 5:30pm that will include an item calling for terminating the employment of Superintendent Diana Sayavedra.

Call tells us that Leah Hanany, the new President of the Board who led the effort to reopen Lamar Elementary in spite of the dire financial consequences, is behind this effort.

It wasn’t enough that the Board just voted itself sweeping powers to ratify the hiring decisions of the Superintendent. Now Hanany wants her fired, even though she is highly competent and talented.

We expect the TEA will be taking over EPISD in short order.

Leah Hanany is behaving like a tyrant.
