El Paso Taxpayer Revolt – CHIEF COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER OF EPISD TRIES TO STOP KFOX14 INTERVIEW WITH HANANY

Posted on July 9, 2025

[[{“value”:”

Yesterday Julia Spencer of KFOX14 aired an outstanding interview with EPISD Board President Hanany, whom she pressed with tough questions about her support for keeping Lamar Elementary open.

The school has a capacity of up to 1,000 students but there are currently only 177 enrolled. It costs $3.2 million per year to keep it open, or $18,079 per student. That does not include the $12.5 million needed to bring the 64-year-old building up to code.

It was absurd enough that Hanany brought the Chief Communications Officer of EPISD, Liza Rodriguez to the interview, as if she needed to be babysat, but then Rodriguez interrupted and tried to stop the interview as soon as Spencer started pressuring her to be honest!

We have never seen anything like it!

The taxpayers provide Rodriguez with a salary of $140,000 per year and this is how she conducts herself?

Kudos to Spencer for her excellent report and for pressing Hanany to dispense with the propaganda and answer her questions.
