We recently reported that Victor Vasquez, President of the Westside Democrats of El Paso, posted this anti-Semitic cartoon on his group’s official Facebook page on November 2:
The image depicts an Israeli soldier with a stereotypical (and very exaggerated) hook nose, pointing a rifle at a screaming woman, presumably a Palestinian. He looks in the mirror and sees himself as a Nazi soldier and his victim as a Jew wearing the striped garment of a prisoner in a German concentration camp.
We have learned this past Saturday that the Board of the Westside Democrats of El Paso have forced Vasquez to resign.
However, he still serves as Vice-President of the City’s Civil Service Commission, having been appointed by City Rep. Alexsandra Annello of District 2 early this year.
Hopefully he will step down from that position as well.
