El Paso Taxpayer Revolt – SPECIAL ELECTION TO REPLACE REP. ANNELLO ON CITY COUNCIL TO COST UP TO $600,000

Rep. Alexsandra Annello of District 2 announced October 3, 2023 that she is running for Texas House District 77 and that she will effectively resign from City Council next month.

Her term was due to end January 7, 2025 but will now end more than one year early.

The special election to replace her will be held December 9, with four candidates competing for the office: Josh Acevedo, Veronica Carbajal, Judy Gutierrez, and Joe Mendoza.

Today, under agenda item 57, our City Council will vote to “establish the funding source and make any necessary budget transfers for the Special Election of 2023 and possible run-off Election not to exceed $600,000.”
