EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — One teenage girl was arrested and another teen girl was referred to juvenile justice authorities after what Alamogordo Police are calling “altercations” on Friday, Aug. 29 during the Alamogordo High School varsity football game.
A 14-year-old girl was arrested for battery upon a peace officer and resisting and obstructing an officer, Alamogordo Police said.
A 15-year-old girl was referred to Juvenile Probation and Parole for public affray and resisting or obstructing an officer, Alamogordo Police said.
The incidents led to the evacuation of Friday’s football game, police said.
Police said they became aware of potential threats that were connected to altercations at the football game. Those threats are under investigation, police said.
“Out of an abundance of caution, Alamogordo Public Schools made the proactive decision to clear the stadium to ensure the safety of everyone in attendance. We recognize the stress and disappointment this caused for students, families, and fans, and we deeply appreciate the community’s understanding and cooperation. Our officers remain committed to working closely with Alamogordo Public Schools and the community to maintain a safe and supportive environment for all,” Alamogordo Police said.
